Those aren't ads

I have things that look sort of like ads but are not. Here's an example:

I'm using the Shoutouts service to post them.  They aren't affiliate or otherwise revenue-generating links, they're just things I like, think are cool, etc. 

I'm still thinking about what I make of them. They're awfully ad-like, and ads are fatiguing, and things that look like them are probably not welcome to some people. On the other hand, they're sort of fun to make, and I expect to add more over time for things like books, albums, entire cities, and good human beings. 

So we'll see.
