Anti-identity-politics people are having a field day with this, veering into the usual weird territory that only an unholy alliance of Marxist-Leninists and idiot rightoids could jointly concoct.

I guess the thing I don't disagree with is that NPR feels of a piece with the NYT and WaPo and other "establishment media."  The content is almost irrelevant. It's the sense of complacent sameness. There is no shortage of ways to find out what Very Bright People With a Stake in the System think about everything. It's stultifying. Suffocating.
